140 cases found in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh reported 140 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, taking its active caseload to 1156 and the tally of confirmed cases to 56,633, a senior health official said on Monday.

Of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex contracted the highest number of cases at 77, followed by Changlang (15) and West Kameng (13).

Six cases each were detected in Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri, while Tirap found five, Tawang and Kamle (four each), and Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley and Namsai three cases each.

68 of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 72 symptomatic, the official said, while adding that the day’s positivity rate stood at 20 per cent, which was 23.39 per cent on Sunday.

On the other hand, 54 persons were cured of the infection in the period which enhanced the total number of recoveries to 55,195. 

As no new casualties were reported during the past 24 hours, the state’s COVID death toll remained at 282, he said.
