Shillong: Five more COVID-19 cases in the East Khasi Hills district added up to 38 active cases, while 22 more recoveries from the viral disease surged up the number of recoveries to 13, 765 in Meghalaya on Friday.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said that the new five COVID-19 cases detected on Friday included that of two health workers.
He said the 22 recoveries recorded from the viral infection on Friday were from East Khasi Hills district.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills that includes Shillong has also come down to 24.
Of the eleven districts in Meghalaya, seven districts are currently free from COVID-19.
Meghalaya has so far registered 13,951 cases of COVID-19, including 148 fatalities.
Of the 3,58, 903!persons tested for COVID-19 in the State till date, 3,44, 952 persons were tested negative for the virus, the senior medical official informed.
Since the onset of the pandemic till date, 92,038 persons from outside have entered the State, which has two confinement zones where positive COVID-19 cases have been detected, while five persons are in institutional quarantine and 33 persons are in home isolation.
On the other hand, 15, 606 health care workers have been administered with the first dose of the Covishield vaccine and 1,473 health care workers have been inoculated with the second dose, while 9,797 front line workers have also been administered with the vaccine against COVID-19 in the State till date.
