Friday sees 5 deaths, 210 positive cases, 210 recoveries in Manipur

Imphal: Manipur registered five Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday while 210 persons (209 general population, one CAPF) tested positive and 179 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The five persons who expired are from Churachandpur, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Senapati and Imphal West. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1843. Three of those who expired had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 1st dose of the vaccine while another one has taken both the doses.

The 209 persons (109 males 100 females) from the general population who tested positive include 105 from Imphal West, 43 from Imphal East, 12 from Ukhrul, 10 from Kakching, eight from Thoubal, six each from Chandel and Kamjong, four each from Bishnuour, Churachandpur and Senapati and two from Tamenglong.

Altogether, 3,101 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 6.8 %

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,19,445 (General Population – 1, 15,176, Central Security Personnel 4,269). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 15,573 (General Population – 1, 11,371, Central Security Personnel – 4,202). The number of active cases is 2,029(General Population – 2,206, Personnel – 62).

The total number of doses administered on September 23, 2021, is 5,620 and the cumulative number doses administered is 16,51,313 (1st dose 12,17,378, 2nd dose 4,33,935).

The total number of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on September 24 is 540 out of which 438 are general beds while 102 are ICU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on September 24 is 3467 out of which 624 are occupied and 2843 are vacant.
