COVID-19: Manipur records 177 new cases, one death

Imphal:  One death due to COVID-19 was recorded in Manipur, while 177 fresh cases were reported with a positivity rate of 8.8 per cent, according to data shared by the State health department here on Monday.

On Sunday, 234 new cases were recorded with a positivity rate of 8.0 per cent, according to the latest health bulletin.

The total infection count in Manipur stands at 1,18,673. Over 1,14,658 lakh patients have recovered from the virus.

A total of 2,034 tests — 840 RT-PCR/CBNAAT tests and 1,194 rapid antigen tests — were conducted a day ago, the bulletin said.

The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (60), Imphal West (66), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (2), Churachandpur (10), Chandel (2), Tamenglong (8), Pherzawl (1) and Kangpokpi (1). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, said the bulletin.

The lone dead case was reported from Imphal West.

During the past 24 hours, 183 persons were discharged. While the number of active cases is 2,183, the recovery rate is 96.62 per cent.

The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered on 19th September 2021 is only 620. The cumulative doses is 16,26,163 (1st dose 1213879 and 2nd dose 4122843.
