Arunachal logs 144 new Covid positive cases; two succumb

Itanagar: As many as 144 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 51,799, while the death toll rose to 254 as two more succumbed to the disease.

Of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum at 29, followed by Papum Pare 24 and Lower Subansiri 18, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Of these, 71 patients are asymptomatic and 73 symptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the fresh casualties, one each was reported from Changlang and Namsai.

On the other hand, 220 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the tally to 49,860. The recovery rate is over 96 per cent.

Active cases tally stands at 1,685.
