Guwahati: Inter-district movement in Assam is likely to resume from August 16 if the COVID 19 situation remains under control, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said today.
Briefing the media, CM Sarma further said that the total curfew in all the districts in Assam has been lifted.
However, curfew will come into force in all the districts of the State by 5 pm and shops will close by 4 pm.
Meanwhile, in the districts of Lakhimpur and Golaghat, shops will close by 12pm and curfew will come into force at 1 pm till 5 in the morning the next day.
“We are planning to further extend curfew relaxations till 6pm by next week if everything goes according to plan,” Sarma said.
COVID cases have come down below 1,000 and the positivity rate under 1 per cent in the
state, while the recovery rate improved further to 96.84 per cent.
