NRL dedicates 120 bedded Covid care facilities at Jorhat Medical College

Guwahati: Assam based refiner, Numaligarh Refinery limited (NRL) today said that it has dedicated a full-fledged 120 bedded Covid Care hospital with a 20 bedded ICU facility at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital as a part of its continued support the government to in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new facility is expected to contribute in providing Covid-19 medical care to the public of Upper Assam as Jorhat is centrally accessible to people of three adjacent districts – Jorhat, Golaghat and Sivasagar.

The facility was inaugurated today by NRL MD – S.K. Barua ,Lok sabha MP Topon Kumar Gogoi.

Developed at a total cost of around Rs. 7 crore, the COVID Centre is equipped with 100 beds, 20 ICU beds, cardiac monitors, ventilators, nebulizers, oximeters, oxygen concentrators and other furniture items such as bed side trolley, locker, wheelchair etc.

In addition to building this facility, NRL is extending financial assistance for ICU technicians for a period of 6 months and is also renovating another building to be used as a duty room for doctors and COVID wards.
