Assam’s COVID-19 death toll crosses 2000-mark

Guwahati: As many as 76 persons died due to COVID-19 related infections in Assam on Friday taking the death toll in second wave in the state to 2,060.

In Assam, 44,057 tests were conducted on May 14 of which 4,078 persons tested COVID-19 positive, which brings the day’s positivity rate to 9.26%.

The active COVID-19 cases in Assam have gone up to 41,978. Further, 4,168 patients in total were discharged from various hospitals across the state.

The highest number of COVID-19 cases were reported in Guwahati, Kamrup Metro district which is 1,107. Other high case-load districts (with maximum numbers of new cases reported in a day) include Dibrugarh (352), Kamrup Rural (323), and Nagaon (224).
