94 positive cases in Manipur, Covid active cases rise to 450

Imphal: There is no letup in the rising  positive cases in Manipur as 94 more persons from the general got infected with the virus in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday.

During the same period, there was no report of any Covid-related deaths while 29 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

Of the 94 persons who tested positive, 41 are from Imphal West, 29 from Imphal East, eight from Thoubal, four from Bishnupur, three each from Kangpokpi, Noney and Ukhrul Two from Churachandpur and one from Kakching. Altogether, 590 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of 15.9 %. 

Of the 29 persons who recovered, 16 are from home isolation, six from JNIMS, four from Shija Hospital, Two from RIMS and one from Chandel. The recovery rate of the state as of Friday dips down to 98.14 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 37, 873 out of which 1, 35, 303 have recovered leaving 450 active cases in the state.

As on July 15, 2022, 117 D-type oxygen cylinders and 14 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 16, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 18 beds out of which 15 are occupied and three are vacant. RIMS has a total of 47 beds out of which 21 are occupied and 26 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on July 15, is 10,553, the cumulative number of doses administered is 30,06,762 (1st dose 16,02,778, 2nd dose 12,71,796) and precautionary dose is 1,32,196.
