566 BTS to be commissioned in Arunachal Pradesh by Apr 2023

Itanagar: In a bid to improve the digital connectivity in the remote border villages of the State, the Arunachal Pradesh Government decided that by April 2023, 566 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) will be commissioned in different Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) BTS locations of the State, official sources said.

The State Government is committed to extend all possible support to the telecom service providers to order to improve the digital connectivity in the border areas, said Chief Secretary Dharmendra while chairing the 2nd State Level Broadband Committee (SBC) meeting on National Broadband Mission and BharatNet at the Civil Secretariat here on Friday.  

He urged the telecom service providers to work in close coordination with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts and solve the issues related to site acquisition, power supply and others that may arise during the course of commissioning of the projects.

Commissioner PWD Kaling Tayeng, Secretary Power AK Bisht, Secretary IT Anirudh Singh, DoT (GoI) representative Souvick Kr Das, BSNL General Manager Arung Siram, BBNL GM Dilip Chiram were among others present in the meeting, sources added.
