Puducherry: As many as 49 fresh Coronavirus cases have been reported in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM, on Thursday, taking the infection tally to 1,27,259.
The fresh cases were ten less than what was recorded on Wednesday.
No fatalities were reported during the period and the death toll remained at 1,849.
According to the Covid-19 status released by the health department here, of the 3,714 swab sample tests conducted yesterday, the reports of 49 persons came out positive.
About 33 cases were reported in the Puducherry region, 12 in the Karaikal region, three in the Yanam region and One in the Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 53 persons were discharged 34 of them were from the Puducherry region, six from the Karaikal region, four from the Yanam region and nine from the Mahe region.
Presently, 74 patients were being treated at hospitals in the Puducherry region, 10 in the Karaikal region, three in the Yanam region and nine in the Mahe region.
Another 551 persons were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all four regions of the Union Territory after tested positive for COVID-19.
So far, 1,27,259 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,24,763 patients were treated and discharged, 1,849 people died and presently there are 647 active cases.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.32 per cent, the case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.04 per cent.
As many as 10,65,778 doses of the Covid vaccine were so far administered to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public in the UT.
