Hamirpur (HP): An unknown vehicle (Car) on Saturday morning crushed to death about 40 sheep near Dohgi village of the Una district. The herd belongs to a shepherd Kishori Lal of Majryan village of the Kangra district and was on its way to Una forests for grazing.
The owner of the herd said that the incident took place around 4.00 am and he could not note the number of the vehicle as it was dark and the owner of the vehicle was running the car at full speed as a result about fifty sheep and goats were injured out of which 40 died.
Dr.Satendra Thakur, the veterinary officer also reached the spot along with the team and took the injured sheep to the hospital for first aid.
Bangana police station in charge, Prem Pal Sharma also reached the spot and held an on the spot inquiry. He was also examining the CCTV footage of a camera installed along the road.
He said that a case of negligent driving had been registered and further investigation into the case is on.
