Imphal: As part of the ongoing ‘war on drugs’ campaign by government, a combined team of Kangpokpi district police and other government agencies under the supervision of PG Singsit, SP Kangpokpi conducted massive poppy destruction drive on Febuary 15-16,. 2021 at Ichai and Tusam area under Saikul Police Station.
The joint team consisted of 70 personnel comprising Adl SP (L/O) Kangpokpi, SDPO Gamnom Sapormeina and OC-Saikul PS, SDC Saikul, representatives from NAB, Imphal and Forest Dept, Kangpokpi. The team destroyed poppy plants cultivated at about 20 acres of land at Ichai areas covering Ichailamlan (Saikho), Ichaigojang, T. Gojang & Saijang villages and another 20 acres at Tusam areas covering Tusam, Tengkonphai, Naphai and Songphel Kholen villages. A case has been registered at Saikul PS in this regard.
