Imphal: Manipur continues to be hit hard by the 2nd wave of the pandemic, Three more persons succumbed to Covid-19, 172 persons from the general population and 3 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Tuesday in Manipur. During the same period, and 50 persons recovered as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
A 42-year-old male resident of Imphal West expired at Shija Hospital; a 75-year-old female resident of Imphal East expired at JNIMS while a 65-year-old female resident of Imphal East passed away at RIMS. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands to 393.
Imphal West recorded a spike of 85 positive cases among the 172 persons (104 males, 68 females) from the general population who tested positive. 29 of these are from Imphal East, 26 from Bishnupur, 9 from Kakching, 8 from Senapati, 7 from Churachandpur, 3 each from Thoubal and Kangpokpi and 1 from Chandel.
Meanwhile, there were 50 recoveries which include 36 who were on home isolation, 12 of them were from SHRI and 1 from CAPF. The recovery rate of the state now stands at 95.36%.
Meanwhile, the Health Department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on April 25 by Indigo Flight 6E-6181 in rows 16 – 21, on indigo Flight 6E – 21 in rows 29 – 35, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 30,5742 (General Population — 27,215 and Central Security Personnel — 4,527). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,317 (General Population — 25,869 and CAPF— 3,448). The number of active cases is 1032 (general population 937 and CAPF 75).
As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 139457.
The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
