Imphal: Voting for thirteen assembly segments of 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary constituency spread across eight districts is underway.
At 11 am, 33.22 per cent voter turnout was recorded so far and no untoward incident was reported from any constituency, according to poll officials here on Friday.
Four candidates are in the fray – NPF-BJP-NPP’s Kachui Timothy Zimik, Congress’s Alfred Kanngam Arthur, and Independents S Kho John and Alyson Abonmai.
A total of 4.8 lakh voters including 2,39,140 male, 2,45,807 female and two transgender voters are exercising their franchise in Phase 2. There are 848 polling stations including 36 nos. of P-3 polling stations and 279 nos. of P-2 polling stations and 533 nos. of P-1 polling stations.
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh urged every eligible citizen to exercise their democratic right and vote for the rightful c candidate as we start voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha Election on Friday.
“Let’s come together to shape the future of our nation by casting our votes thoughtfully and responsibly, ensuring that every ballot is cast with conviction and commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive India,” Biren Singh said at his X handle.
