Imphal: On the eve of Independence Day, 20 Manipur police officers and personnel have been selected to receive Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG), President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS), Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS), Chief Minister’s Trophy for Community Services (CMTCS), Chief Minister’s Trophy for Anti-Drug Campaign (CMTADC) and Manipur Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry (CMPMG).
Gunachandra Chanam, SI, CDO/IW and Hijam Eshworchandra Singh, HC/8th IRB attached with CDO/IW have been selected for Police Medal Gallantry. Whereas, Christopher Doungel, IPS, ADGP (Modernisation) & MD, MPHC Ltd, Manipur has been given the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Eight police personnel namely S Gautam Singh, IPS, SP/Vigilance & Anti-Corruption; Th Gojen Singh, MPS, Dy SP/CID (SB), Manipur; Konthoujam Bobby, Inspector, NAB; Ak. Bhogendro Singh, Subedar JC No. 486, 1st Bn , MR; Sanasam Raju Singh, Subedar JC. No. 515, 1st IRB; Konjengbam Priyojit Singh, Jemada JC. No. 803, MPTC; M Parpa Chothe, HC, CID (SB) and S Joychandra Meetei, HC, Imphal West district were selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Services, according to a statement issued by Khuplen Lhouvum, MPS, PRO, Manipur Police Department here on Saturday.
On the other hand, Lakshay Sharma, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Pherzawl [Category: GOs (Dy.SP/AC and above)]; Nongthombam Ingocha Singh, Inspector, OC-Imphal PS, Imphal West [Category: ASI to Inspector and Jemadar to Subedar]; and Nongthombam Romila Devi, WPC/No. 1205051, Kakching [Constable to HC and Rfn to Havildar] have been given Chief Minister’s Trophy for Community Service.
Three police personnel including Dr. Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh, Superintendent of Police, Imphal West [Category: GOs (Dy SP/AC and above)]; Y Shaktishen Singh, Subedar, JC.No 629, 8th MR attached with BPR as OC/CDO BPR [Attached: ASI to Inspector and Jemadar to Subedar)], and Y Ibotomba Singh, HC, Bishnupur attached with NAB [Attached: Constable to HC and Rfn to Havildar)] will be given Chief Minister’s Trophy for Anti-Drug Campaign, the release added.
Besides, (L) Lisham Premchand Singh, then Inspector of Police (Posthumous Award), Bishnupur; Thokchom Shachi Singh, Rfn. No. 1299293, 2nd IRB attached with Special CDO Unit, and N Inaobi Singh, C/No. 0901470, Imphal West attached with Special CDO Unit have been selected for Manipur Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
