Imphal: Manipur recorded two Covid related deaths, 35 positive cases (30 general population, five CAPF) and five recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Tuesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.
Of the two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, one is from Imphal East and the from Kangpokpi. Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 1st dose of Covid vaccination while the other had not taken vaccination. The cumulative3 death toll of the state now stands at 2,006.
Nine of the 30 persons from the general population who tested positive are from Imphal East, eight from Imphal West, three each from Bishnupur and Kakching, each from Chandel and Churachandpur. Altogether, 2,245 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 1.6 %.
Meanwhile, five persons recovered and were discharged, four of them from CCCs and one from JNIMS. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.20 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,878 out of which 1,23,615 have recovered, leaving 257 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on January 3, 2022, is 5,443, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,22,386 (1st dose 13,28,018, 2nd dose 9,94,363).
