Imphal: At least two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) were killed and two others sustained injuries in Manipur’s Bishnupur district following a blast at the central paramilitary’s forces’ outpost.

Gunmen suspected to be Kuki militants opened fire at Narainsena village, a Meitei village, at around 12.45 am in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, police sources said, adding that armed miscreants also fired a bomb which exploded inside a CRPF outpost. 

The deceased CRPF men have been identified as Sub-Inspector N Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini. The injured personnel were Inspector Jadav Das and constable Aftab Das. They received splinter wounds. 

Till date, 11 Central and State Police forces have been killed in this crisis.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a person who was missing after a gunfight at Sinam village in Imphal East bordering Kangpokpi was found dead.

The deceased has been identified as Laishram Bomcha, alias Preme, 32, from Sinam Mamang Leikai.
