Moscow: At least 11 people, including nine children, were killed and 32 others were injured after two attackers opened fire at a school in the Russian city of Kazan on Tuesday.
One of the perpetrators has been detained and the other was killed, according to TASS news agency.
Two of the children plunged to death after jumping out of a window on the third floor.
One of the attackers walked through the main entrance of the No. 175 school and immediately fired at random with a machine gun, TASS said.
Earlier reports said that a 17-year-old, who has been detained, shot dead a teacher and six students at the school.
Law enforcement agencies are working at the scene, and security measures have been strengthened at all educational institutions in Kazan.
