Imphal: In the first instance, under the guidance and supervision of SP, Imphal East, Jogeshchandra Haobijam, a joint team comprising officers and personnel of IE District police and NAB led by SDPO Lamlai Ksh. Ravikumar Singh, along with OC Sagolmang, 2nd OC NAB and 2nd OC Narcotic Cell Imphal East, destroyed around 40 acres of illegal poppy plantation in Kongba Maru hills which falls under the jurisdiction of Sagolmang PS, Saikul Sub-division of Kangpokpi District.
On the other hand, a combined team of Tengnoupal District Police and CDO, NCB, 1st MR, 8th MR led by Th. Krishnatombi, Addl. SP(ops) Tengnoupal and officers consisting of Insp John Lamkang, OC Tengnoupal, Inspector DK Angrung, OC Machi PS under the supervision of Th Vikramjit Singh, SP, Tengnoupal destroyed around 35 (thirty five) acres of illicit poppy plantations at hill range of Bongmol village under Machi PS jurisdiction.
In the third instance, a joint team comprising of Chandel District Police, NAB, NCB, MPTC and 9th IRB, led by Addl SP, Chandel Shankerjit Loitongbam, under the supervision of SP,Chandel N Madhunimai, destroyed about 30 acres of illegal poppy plantation at Govok hill range, located 15 km southeastern from Chakpikarong PS. A Case has been registered at Chakpikarong PS for further necessary action, the press note added.
