Shillong: In alignment with the nationwide celebrations of World Environment Day 2026, My Bharat Shillong organized a comprehensive plantation drive at Mawryngkneng today. The initiative was designed to promote environmental conservation, enhance local green cover, and encourage active community participation, particularly among the youth, in building a sustainable future.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, youth volunteers, community leaders, and representatives of My Bharat Shillong. A diverse selection of indigenous and environmentally beneficial saplings were planted in designated areas across the region to support ecological balance and enhance environmental sustainability.
Organizers highlighted the importance of World Environment Day as a reminder of the shared responsibility individuals and communities hold in safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
