Barrackpore: A youth has been arrested after being frisked by the GRP, who seized over Rs 61 lakh in cash from his possession while he was detained at the Naihati station of the Sealdah section of Eastern Railway in North 24 Parganas district.
The youth, identified as Abhishekh Sonkar, a resident of Titagarh, was nabbed on Tuesday afternoon when he got down from the train of Kalyani local at Naihati station, police said on Wednesday.
He was arrested after failing to give details about the source of money and where he was taking those bundles of notes, which were stacked in a side bag.
The GRP has handed over the youth to the local police station.
