Wushu Championship 2024 kicks off in Manipur

Imphal: The Indian Army launched the “Wushu Championship 2024” in Manipur as part of Operation Sadbhavana, with a grand opening ceremony at Kha Potshangbam Nachou in Bishnupur district.

The tournament, running from October 26 to 30, aims to promote sportsmanship and unity among the youth of Manipur through the ancient martial art of Wushu.

The opening event featured a Wushu Sanda demonstration, a traditional Thang Ta dance performance, and a parade by participants. District Commissioner Lourenbam Bikram, Superintendent of Police K. Ravi Kumar, along with District Wushu officials and sports enthusiasts, attended to show support for over 200 athletes competing in the tournament.

The Indian Army extended its best wishes to all participants, recognizing their dedication and the spirit of competition that drives the championship forward.
