Imphal: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ng. Mani College, in collaboration with Manipur University, organized a successful one-day workshop titled Enhancing Learning through SWAYAM: A Mentorship and Course Guidance Workshop at the Ng. Mani College Hall. The workshop aimed to provide valuable insights into integrating SWAYAM courses in higher education and highlighted the crucial roles of coordinators and mentors in facilitating online learning.
The event was honored by the presence of Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar of Manipur University, as the Chief Guest. Prof. H. Basantakumar Singh, SWAYAM Coordinator, was the Guest of Honour, and Dr. Chandam Betholia, Project Coordinator of SWAYAM MOOCs, EMMRC, Manipur University, along with Ngangkham Chaoba Singh, Chairman of the Governing Body, Ng. Mani College, attended as Special Invitees. Dr. W. Jibankumar Singh, Principal of Ng. Mani College presided over the event and delivered the welcome address and keynote speech.
Prof. H. Basantakumar Singh and Dr. Chandam Betholia served as Resource Persons for the workshop. They delivered engaging sessions on The Role and Responsibilities of SWAYAM Coordinators and Mentors in Integrating SWAYAM Courses in the Undergraduate Curriculum and MOOCs and Their Relevance in Education Today, respectively. Their discussions underscored the significance of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in modern education and encouraged educators to integrate SWAYAM courses effectively.
The event was hosted by Dr. Laimujam Sidartha Singh, Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department, and Naorem Yaiphabi Chanu, Assistant Professor in the Economics Department, both from Ng. Mani College. Dr. Sujeta Beishamayum, SWAYAM Mentor at Ng. Mani College and Convenor of the workshop, delivered the vote of thanks.
The workshop saw participation from faculty members of 11 colleges, along with faculty and students from Ng. Mani College. The interactive sessions provided valuable guidance on SWAYAM courses, mentorship roles, and best practices for integrating online learning platforms into undergraduate education.
The event concluded successfully, reaffirming the commitment of Ng. Mani College and Manipur University to promote digital learning and enhance educational standards through SWAYAM and MOOCs.
