Karahal (MP): Bowing to matrushakti on his 72nd birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid glowing tributes to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of India when he averred that representation of womenfolk in any sector automatically places a seal on its success.

Addressing a conference of women’s self-help groups in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur district, the visiting leader referred to his mother Heeraben and expressed happiness vis-à-vis the opportunity to be present among female members of SHGs.

“A SHG convention coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti has a special significance indeed. A transformation has been witnessed in this century’s India in comparison to the earlier one; women’s power is coming to the fore in the form of representation in the political and social spheres. More than eight crores of our sisters are associated with SHGs across the nation. The endeavor is to ensure that each and every Indian village becomes associated with at least one SHG for women. The post-2014 period witnessed the country executing endeavors vis-à-vis enhancing the dignity of women. Economic empowerment empowers them socially as well and that is precisely why present dispensations have thrown open every portal for our daughters; they are joining the Army in a wider spectrum,” the Prime Minister underlined.

In the context of Namibian carnivores released in Kuno National Park, he said, “The populace of this country in general and this state, in particular, has never betrayed my trust, therefore let the residents of this region resolve to protect the eight cheetahs released into the wild on this day.”

Subsequent to his speech, Modi viewed products made by women.
