Imphal: With 716 fresh infections, Manipur on Friday recorded highest ever coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) cases, breaking its own previous daily spikes, pushing the cumulative tally to 38,322 cases, officials said.
In the last 24 hours, the deaths also shot up after 16 fatalities were recorded – in the second wave of infections in Manipur. A total of 552 people have succumbed to the infection so far, according to a statement by the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
In all, 716 persons (375M. 341F) from general population and 10 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPE) were confined as new COVIDI9 positive cases, the statement further informed.
The positive persons were tested at JNIMS (136), RIMS (4), Imphal East (10), Imphal West (72), Maipakpi (6), Mother’s Care (4), CMC (2), Hillside (I), SWISS (5), Gilead Health Care Centre (3), RD Wing (3), Raj Medicity (125), Ema Hospital (I), Advance Hospital (1), Asian Hospital (I), lboyaima Hospital (2), Jivan Hospital (4). Peace Hospital (3). Shija Hospital (39). Babina Diagnostics (113). Escent Diagnostics (19). Thoubal (25). Bishnupur (38). Kakching (25). Churachandpur (39). Chandel (5). Senapati (II). The positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (192), Imphal West (290). Thoubal (48), Bishnupur (57). Kakching (33). Ukhrul (9). Churachandpur (49), Chandel (5). Senapati (II). Tamenglong (4), Kangpokpi (5), Noney (I I) and Jiribam (2). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
Sixteen persons aged 35 years (female, Churachandpur), 53 years (male, (Imphal East), 69 years (male, Bishnupur), 35 years (male, Imphal West), 64 years (male, Imphal West), 81 years (male, Imphal East), 67 years (male, Imphal West). 46 years (male, Imphal West), 50 years (male, Imphal East), 40 years (female, Imphal East), 90 years (female. Imphal West). 56 years (female, Imphal West). 70 years (female, Imphal West), 53 years (male, Imphal West), 65 years (male, Imphal West), and 68 years (female, Bishnupur) expired at DH Churachandpur ( I). Raj Medicity (I). Shija Hospital (4), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (6) hospital respectively. The cumulative number of deaths is 552.
The total number of discharged persons is 381. They are from CAPF (6). Home Isolation (291), RIMS (16), JNIMS (8), RD Wing ( D. BB (17). NSU (14). RAJMED (9), SHIU (5), Bishnupur (6). Ukhrul (I). and Churachandpur (7).
6. The cumulative number of positive cases is 38.322 (General Population – 34.632 and Central Security Personnel – 3,690). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 31.872 (General Population – 28.363 and Central Security Personnel – 3,509). The number of active cases is 5898 (General Population – 5722 and Central Security Personnel – 176). The recovery rate is 83.16%.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1107 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 516 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
