Imphal: In the worst day for Manipur since the 2nd wave of the pandemic hit the state, five died, 141 persons from the general population and 5 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Monday in Manipur. During the same period, and 36 persons recovered as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
A 57-year-old male resident of Imphal East, a 53-year-old female resident of Thoubal, a 35-year old male resident of Chuirchandpur and a 75-year-old male resident of Imphal East expired at JNIMS while a 53-year-old male resident of Imphal West expired at RIMS. The cumulative death toll now mounts to 390.
The 141 persons (73 males, 59 females) from the general population who tested positive include 70 from Imphal West, 42 from Imphal East, 11 from Ukhrul, 5 from Kakching , 4 each from Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kangokpi and 1 from Chandel.
Meanwhile, there were 36 recoveries which include 20 who were on home isolation, 7 each who were admitted to RIMS and JNIMS and 2 of from them were from SHRI. The recovery rate of the state now stands at 95.74%.
Meanwhile, Health Department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on (i) April 19 by Indigo Flight 6E-2251 in rows 21-27and on (ii) April 21 by Air India Flight AI-3713 in rows 12-18, On (iii) April 24 by Indigo Flight 6E – 2615 in rows 22-28, by Indigo Flight 6E – 3351 in rows 13 -19 and by Air India Flight AI –3713 in rows 1-4, 9-22, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 30,567 (General Population — 27,043 and Central Security Personnel — 4,524). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,267 (General Population — 25,821 and CAPF— 3,446). The number of active cases is 910 (general population 836 and CAPF 74).
As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 130979.
The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
