Imphal: Troops of the Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered on Saturday a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Thoubal district.
A combing operation was launched in the general area of B Phainom in Thoubal district based on credible input regarding the presence of war-like stores, an official of the Assam Rifles said.
During the search operation, one 81mm Improvised Mortar, one single barrel rifle, two grenades, ammunition and other war like stories were found.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Police, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
