Wage revision: GI Companies employees to go on strike tomorrow

Rao said demonstrations will be held in front of United India Regional Office in Basheerbagh here and leaders from all Associations/unions representing Class-I, II, III & IV will participate in the program.

Hyderabad: Officers & Employees working in Public Sector General Insurance Companies will observe a one-day nationwide strike on Friday demanding settlement of wage revision due from August 1, 2017.
The officers and employees working in United India, National, Oriental, and New India Assurance Companies will take part in the strike.

Hyderabad Region General Insurance Employees’ Association (HRGIEA) General Secretary Y V Subba Rao in a release on Thursday said the strike was also called on other demands like Abolition of NPS, demanding 1995 Pension scheme to all employees, Pension updation & 30 percent minimum family Pension.

Rao said demonstrations will be held in front of United India Regional Office in Basheerbagh here and leaders from all Associations/unions representing Class-I, II, III & IV will participate in the program.

Central Trade Union leaders will address the gathering, he added.
