Visa scam for Chinese nationals: Karti denies CBI charges as ludicrous

"I categorically deny all of them", Karti said, who will be landing at New Delhi early tomorrow morning, said in the statement.

Chennai: Days after CBI raided his office and residential premises in connection with visa scam for Chinese Nationals, Karti Chidambaram, Congress Lok MP and son of Congress leader P.Chidambaram, today denied the charges and said the allegations levelled against him by CBI  were ludicrous to say the least and nothing but an harassment and witch hunt.

Categorically denying all the charges, Karti, in a statement ahead of his  tomorrow’s arrival after a family trip to UK and Europe, Karti said it was a motivated attempt to target his father through him and that he would continue to fight every such attempts.

“For what it’s worth, however, I firmly state that I am not associated with this visa issue directly, indirectly, vicariously or even telepathically ! The allegations against me by the CBI are ludicrous, to say the least.”

“I categorically deny all of them”, Karti said, who will be landing at New Delhi early tomorrow morning, said in the statement.

He said he was heading back home as was planned when he left two weeks ago for a work/family-visit trip to the UK and Europe.

“It does not intimidate me that the Central government is once again using its agencies to accuse me of a malicious and completely fabricated charge”, he said, adding, “previously, the agencies have gone after me based on the statement of an undertrial murder suspect”.

“Now they are basing their bogus charges on the alleged action of a deceased person, whom I have never met. I intend to continue to fight every one of their  motivated attempts to target my father through me”, he asserted.
