VB-G RAM-G launched in Chandel

Chandel: The Jan Sammelan-cum-launch event of the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM-G] was held today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel.

Shivaraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare officially launched the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM-G] through video conferencing from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Hemant Kumar,IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, highlighted that the revamped scheme guarantees 125 days of wage employment per eligible rural household annually, replacing the earlier 100-day provision. He urged village authorities to familiarize themselves with the new guidelines and disseminate information on the scheme’s enhanced features to all villages.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the scheme focuses on four key priority areas viz water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and climate resilience. He called upon village authorities to identify and prioritize developmental works based on local needs, while directing block officials to ensure timely implementation of projects recommended by the villages.

He also stressed the importance of transparency, community participation, proper planning, and adherence to the revised guidelines, including enhanced wages. Highlighting the scheme’s potential to strengthen rural livelihoods and create durable community assets, the Deputy Commissioner urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the successful implementation of the programme across all villages in Chandel district.

As part of the programme, a visual screening on the objectives of the VB-G RAM-G initiative was featured to familiarise the participants with the mission which is aimed to strengthen rural livelihoods and employment opportunities. Work orders were also distributed to village chiefs of five different villages from Chandel and Chakpikarong blocks during the programme.

The function was also attended by ADC Chandel, SDOs, official and staffs of DRDA, Chandel, village chiefs and other stakeholders of the district.
