Washington: The suspect who carried out a mass shooting in the US state of Maine has a history of military service and mental health issues, ABC News reported citing law enforcement sources.


The report said Wednesday night that the suspect had a two-week stay this summer at a mental health facility after he allegedly threatened to carry out a shooting at a National Guard facility.


The suspect Robert Card, 39, shot and killed up to 22 people and injured dozens of others in Lewiston, Maine, media reported.


The suspect remains at large, according to authorities.
