Washington: A second military aircraft is believed to have crashed near the California desert site where a Marine helicopter went down a day earlier, killing all five people aboard, Khaleej Times reported on Friday.
Naval Air Facility El Centro issued an emergency alert that said the base had received reports of a military aircraft crashing about 35 miles (56 kilometers) north of Yuma, Arizona, adding that federal firefighters were heading there.
The Imperial County Fire Department confirmed it was responding to a downed aircraft near Palo Verde, which is near the site of Wednesday’s crash, KESQ-TV reported.
No further details were released.
