Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh recorded 42 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while 91 patients were discharged after recovering, State Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal here on Friday.
Now, nine districts out of the total 75 are Corona free. These districts are Aligarh, Amroha, Basti, Etah, Hathras, Kasganj, Kaushambi, Mahoba and Shravasti, he said.
No new cases were confirmed in double digits in any district. Not a single new case of infection was found in 55 districts, while in 20 districts, patients were found in single digit, he said.
At present, the number of active Covid cases in the state has come down to 729.
The positivity rate stood at 0.01 per cent during this period. The recovery rate of corona in the state is 98.6 per cent.
So far, more than 16,84,925 residents of the state have become healthy after getting free from Corona infection.
So far, more than 6.52 crore Covid samples have been tested in the state. In the last 24 hours, 2,44,002 Covid samples were examined.
Mr Sehgel said intensive contact tracing of 22 people found infected in Kanpur on Wednesday was done. Covid testing of about 1,400 people who came in contact with their relatives was done and not a single positive patient was confirmed.
So far, more than 4,67,83,000 Covid vaccines have been administered in UP in which more than 3.91crore people of the state have taken at least one dose of Covid.
