UP: Criminal shot dead by relatives over property dispute

He said that on the complaint of the deceased's mother Rinki Singh a case was lodged against seven persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Thursday. "Three accused have been detained and are being quizzed," he said.

Ballia: A history sheeter was shot dead allegedly by his relatives over property dispute in Dubhar area of Ballia district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Thursday.


Superintendent of Police (SP) S Anand said that Yatharth Vikram Singh (25), a resident of Nai Basti village, had a dispute with his relatives late on Wednesday night. “During the altercation Yatharth was shot after which he was admitted to the district hospital. He died while being taken to Varanasi in a serious condition,” he said.


He said that on the complaint of the deceased’s mother Rinki Singh a case was lodged against seven persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Thursday. “Three accused have been detained and are being quizzed,” he said.


The SP said that Yatharth was a history sheeter of Dubhar police station. “He was having a dispute with his relatives over land earmarked for a toilet. A police team has been constituted to arrest the accused,” he said.
