UIDAI asks citizens to update AADHAAR cards issued over 10 years ago

Imphal: During the past decade, Aadhaar number has emerged as a proof of identity of residents in India. Aadhaar number is being used for availing several government schemes and services.

In order to avail these schemes and services, residents are encouraged to keep the Aadhaar data updated with the latest personal details so that there is no inconvenience in Aadhaar authentication/verification.

Residents who had got their Aadhaar issued 10 years ago, and have never updated after that in these years, such Aadhaar number holders are requested to get the documents updated.

Keeping the documents in Aadhaar updated helps in ease of living, better service delivery, and enables accurate authentication. UIDAI has always encouraged residents to keep their documents updated.

Accordingly, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has provided the facility of document update to the residents, through which the Aadhaar number holders can update their Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents in their Aadhaar.

This facility can be availed online through ‘my aadhaar’ portal (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/) by paying a fee of Rs. 25 or by visiting any nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre by paying a fee of Rs. 50.
