Imphal: Two persons succumbed to Covid-19, 87 persons from the general population tested positive while 78 persons recovered and were discharged in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who expired due to Covid are from Imphal West and Imphal East respectively. One of them had co-morbidities while both of them had been vaccinated with the 2nd dose. The cumu7lative death due to Covid in Manipur now stand at 2128.
Of the 87 persons who tested positive, 44 are from Imphal West, 13 from Imphal East, eight from Churachandpur, six from Thoubal, three each from Bishnupur, Chandel and Kangpokpi, two each from Senapati, Kakching and Ukhrul and one from Noney. Altogether, 1,164 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 7.5%.
Of the 78 persons who recovered, 63 are from home isolation, eight each from JNIMS, four from RIMS and three from SHRI. The recovery rate of the state as of Wednesday stands at 98.02 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 38, 7809 out of which 1, 36,066 have recovered leaving 615 active cases in the state.
As on July 26, 2022, 80 D-type oxygen cylinders and 20 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.
The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as of July 27, 2022, are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds, of which 28 are occupied and 10 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds, of which 43 are occupied and 19 are vacant.
The total number of doses administered on July 26 is 7,444 the cumulative number of doses administered is 30,80,835 (1st dose 16,10,577, 2nd dose 12,82,527) and the precautionary dose is 1,87,731.
