Two deaths, 92 positive cases Wednesday in Manipur

Imphal: Two persons died, 88 persons from the general population and 4 personnel of CAPF tested positive and 22 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

Of the two persons who succumbed to Covid-19, one is an 80-year-old female resident of Kakching who expired at RIMS and the other is a 63-year-old female resident of Jiribam who expired at Babina Speciality Hospital. The cumulative death toll due to the coronavirus pandemic now stands at 380.

The 88 positive persons (54 males, 34 females) from the general population who tested positive include 46 from Imphal West, 13 from Imphal East, 9 from Thoubal, 5 each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Chandel, 2 from Kakching, 1 each from Senapati, Jiribam and Kangpokpi.

The 22 recoveries include 17 from home isolation and 1 each from CAPF, RIMS, JNIMS, RD Wing and SHRI. The recovery rate in the state has dips further to 97.21%.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,961 (General Population — 26,471 and Central Security Personnel — 3,490). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,128 (General Population — 25,686 and CAPF— 3,442). The number of active cases is 543 (general population 402 and CAPF 44).

As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 113651.

The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
