Two deaths, 130 positive cases Saturday in Manipur

The two persons who succumbed to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic are, a 46-year-old female resident of Imphal West and a 63-year-old male resident of imphal East who expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS respectively.

Imphal: Two persons expired, 127 persons from the general population and 3 personnel of Cental Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive and 13 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Saturday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The two persons who succumbed to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic are, a 46-year-old female resident of Imphal West and a 63-year-old male resident of imphal East who expired at Shija Hospital and JNIMS respectively.

The 127 positive persons (62 males, 65 females) from the general population who tested positive include 50 from Imphal West, 30 from Kakching, 23 from Imphal East, 7 from Bishnupur, 5 each from Ukhrul and Chandel 2 each from Thoubal  and Churachandpur.

Meanwhile 12 persons recovered from home isolation and one from SHRI. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 96.40%.

Meanwhile, Health department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on (i) April 20 by Indigo Flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24 and on (ii) April 22 by Indigo Flight 6E – 6181 in rows 2-10 and by Air India Flight AI – 889 in rows 12-18, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).

The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 30,281 (General Population — 26,770 and Central Security Personnel — 3,511). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,193 (General Population — 25,750 and CAPF— 3,443). The number of active cases is 705 (general population 641 and CAPF 64).

As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 123720.

The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
