Imphal: A two-day training programme on “Orchard Management of Fruit Crops”, concluded at ICAR-KVK Tamenglong Wednesday.
The programme which was started from Tuesday was sponsored by the Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphima, Nagaland and was organised by the ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tamenglong.
The function was graced by Dr Kolom Rabi, Head Incharge, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tamenglong and Dr RK Roshan, SMS (Horticulture), ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tamenglong.
All together 20 participants (9 farm women and 11 male farmers) from different parts of Noney and Tamenglong district attended the training programme.
The training course contained eight lectures on different aspect and concepts of “Integrated Approached for Production and Rejuvenation of Tamenglong orange”, “Integrated Nutrient Management in Tamenglong Orange”, “Orchard floor Management, Integrated Pest and Disease management in Tamenglong Orange”, “Orchard Management of Fruit Crop”, “Recent Advances in Composting Techniques” etc, which was delivered by Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) from ICAR-KVK Tamenglong and ICAR-KVK Churachandpur.
As the part of the programme, a detailed demonstration on Softwood Grafting of Tamenglong orange and layout of orchard were also demonstrated.
