Agartala: A 40-year-old housewife from Indira Colony, Ram Chandraghat, under Khowai district, has been awarded life imprisonment for killing her husband last year.
The District and Sessions Judge, Khowai, on Monday convicted Sabitri Tanti (40) and sentenced her to life imprisonment after a long trial following her confession of the crime during custody and trial.
In the intervening nights of March 11 and 12, 2022, Sabitri murdered her husband, Rabindra Tanti, by chopping his head with a sharp cutter.
A case was registered under Section 302 of the IPC, and the accused lady was arrested.
