Agartala: Tripura has registered significant growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and Per Capita income in 2020-21 as compared to previous years amid Covid pandemic, claimed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath here today.
Referring to statistics Nath said GSDP of Tripura in last financial year had climbed up at Rs 59,752.61 Cr even after getting hit by Covid-19, which was Rs 55,984.08 Cr in 2019-20, Rs 49,845.47 Cr in 2018-19, Rs 43,715.80 Cr in 2017-18 and Rs 39479.40 Cr in 2016-17.
“With the improvement of GSDP, Per Capita Income of the state has also increased to Rs 1.31 Lakh, which was Rs 1.25 Lakh in 2019-20, Rs 1.12 Lakh in 2018-19, Rs.1.00 Lakh in 2017-18 and Rs 91.59 in 2016-17,” Nath stated.
The incremental growth of economic parameters of the state is much higher than the national average, he claimed, adding that the boost of primary sectors and self-employment initiative of the present government have contributed to the economic growth of the state.
