Tripura plans to hold at least 250 credit camps in each quarter

Agartala: The State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) in a meeting has decided to hold at least 250 credit camps at the Panchayat level of Tripura every quarter to ensure full saturation of Kishan Credit Card.

Besides, bankers officials of the state government would attend the camps and monitor closely the activities to achieve the targets, the performance of the bankers would be reviewed in subsequent SLBC meetings, said a senior official here today.

The SLBC has agreed to provide Kishan Credit Card to the tenant farmers too, along with other instrumental measures for boosting agriculture and allied activities to strengthen the rural economy, as Covid pandemic has affected the growth of primary sectors for the past two years.

The meeting has also approved the annual credit plan of Rs 8300 crore for the current fiscal, which is significantly higher than last year’s achievement, officials added.
