Three killed, one missing as car falls into river in North Sikkim

Darjeeling: At least three people were killed and another went missing when a four-wheeler on which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge and plunged into the Meyong Khola (river) in Sikkim’s northern district, official sources here quoting a Sikkim Police.

The vehicle, Bolero, was being used as the service car for hydel project work in terranean North Sikkim.

” At least three people were killed and one went missing when a vehicle plunged into a river at Meyong Khola, near Naga, Mangan District,” the report said.

Three dead bodies were retrieved from the icy cold river. 

The search and rescue operation for the missing person is still ongoing in the river with the assistance of Mangan PS and Chungthang PS and local volunteers,” said the report.
