Three-day training programme on ‘Scientific Pig Husbandry Practices’ held in Mamit

Around 15 beneficiaries each from four villages Bawngva, Darlak, N. Sabual & Vawngawnzo were selected under this programme on October 2020.

Aizawl: A three-day training programme on ‘Scientific Pig Husbandry Practices’ was held at the DC Conference Hall Mamit by Scientist from ICAR which was funded by DBT Ministry of  Science & Technology, Government of India.

Around 15 beneficiaries each from four villages Bawngva, Darlak, N. Sabual & Vawngawnzo were selected under this programme on October 2020. These beneficiaries were given two piglets each and a bag of pigfeed.

Inaugural function of Wednesday’s training programme under Biotech KISAN project entitled “Expansion of Activities of Biotech- KISAN Hub in selected  seven Aspirational Districts of North East States” was attended through video Conference by,  Dr. Gaya Prasad, Ex- ADG, ICAR, Dr. Vijay Kumar  Mishra, Director, ICAR, NEH Region and Dr. R. Laha, Hub Facilitator, ICAR.

Sanitation and hygienic rearing of Pigs, Pork value added products, Importance of nutrition and preparation of low cost pig feed are the topic of three days training programme. Demonstration on scientific pig husbandry project were given by Dr. Lalhruaipuii, Scientist/ Principal Investigator and Dr. Vanlalhriatpuia, Young Professional.

The Training was attended by beneficiaries from the 4 Villages and DIPRO Mamit.
