Agartala: The Sepahijala district police arrested three persons from in South Kayardhepa area for allegedly spreading obscene visuals against Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on social media last night and they were forwarded to a local court seeking their custody.
Police said the accused have been identified as Rubel Khan, his father Rustam Alam and brother Obel Khan. Allegedly, Rubel had made an obscene social media post of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and aggrieved with the post three leaders of Kamalasagar BJP Mandal had gone to the house of the youth identified as to ask why such a post was made against CM.
Allegedly, Rubel Khan became angry and came out with a sharp weapon and chased them along with his father, uncle and uncle Khorshed Alam. Getting informed police rushed to the spot and arrested three including Rubel but Khorshed Alam fled the spot.
Meanwhile, Kamalasagar BJP Mandal filed a case against four accused with Madhupur Police Station under Section 67 of IT Act and related sections of CrPC accusing them of being involved in robberies, murders and several anti-social activities.
