Mansa (Punjab): A huge crowd from far-flung places gathered at Moosa village in Punjab’s Mansa district on Tuesday morning to pay their respects to Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead on Sunday evening.
Moosewala, one of the most popular and prolific singer-cum-song writers, was killed by unidentified assailants near Jawahar Ke village.Â
The last rites of the popular Punjabi singer will be performed at his farm land in his native village.
The body of the famous rapper was brought to his home from the Mansa Civil Hospital by his family on Tuesday. In preliminary investigations, Punjab Police linked the murder of Moosewala to an inter-gang rivalry.
In a joint operation, the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and the Punjab STF detained six persons from Uttarakhand for allegedly providing support to the assailants.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, had claimed responsibility for the murder of the popular singer.
