Thoubal: Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash Singh, distributed domestic gas connection (Complete set of accessories) along with documents to eligible 70 (seventy) housewives of different communities in the district at the Conference Hall of the DC Office on Thursday. The gas connection is catered by the M/S. Athokpam Indane, Thoubal under the PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) launched in May 2016 aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with clean cooking fuel.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Team of Thoubal along with Food Safety on Wheel (mobile food testing van) today jointly carried out inspections and drives at Lilong Bazar. Surveillance food samples were taken/ lifted for purity test by the food safety team along with spot licensing and registration camp at Lilong Bazar.
It may be mentioned that the Food Safety Administration, Thoubal is committed to ensuring effective implementation of the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006, Rules and Regulations framed thereunder and directions issued by Food Authority from time to time. The District Level Advisory Committee on Safe Food and Healthy Diets under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal has been arranging periodical surveys of Food Businesses and surveillance of food products.
