Thirty-foot Christmas Tree comes up on Kolkata’s Park Street

Kolkata: A glittering 30-foot gold and silver Christmas tree sprung up on Friday on the city’s posh Park Street, adding to the mood of the festive season.

Covered in gold and silver glitter, and with a diameter of 18 feet, the tree has been conceptualised and designed by Priti Paul, Director of Apeejay Surrendra Group.

The silver symbolises the star that the wise men followed to find the infant Jesus. The gold, a typical Christmas colour, signifies the gift of gold presented to baby Jesus by one of the wise men, according to a media release issued by the company.
