Sunday sees just 4 deaths, 285 positive cases, 426 recoveries in Manipur

The 4 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus includes 3 from Imphal West and 1 from Imphal East. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 4 deaths now stands at 1,751.

Imphal: Manipur registered one of the lowest Covid related deaths of just 4 in weeks in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday. During the same period, the state also recorded just 285 new positive cases (284 general population, 1 CAPF) and 426 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 4 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus includes 3 from Imphal West and 1 from Imphal East. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 4 deaths now stands at 1,751.

2 of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while none of them had been vaccinated.

The 284 persons (127 males, 157 females) from the general population who tested positive include 106 from Imphal West, 49 from Imphal East, 30 from Bishnupur, 23 from Tamenglong, Churachandpur, 18 from Noney, 16 from Churachandpur, 12 from Kakching, 11 each from Ukhrul and 1 from Tengnoupal.

Altogether, a total of 2,771 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 10.3 % in the state on Sunday.

 Meanwhile, 426 persons were discharged which include 252 from home isolation, 114 from CHICs, 143 from CCCs, 7 from JNIMS and 10 from RIMS.

The recovery rate in the state further improves to 94.82%.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,10,942 (General Population – 1, 06,853, Central Security Personnel – 4,089). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,05,197 (General Population – 1,01,141, Central Security Personnel – 4,056). The number of active cases is 3,994 (General Population – 3,966, Personnel – 28).

Altogether 5,611 persons were vaccinated on August 21, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 79,663 (1st dose 11,76,366, 2nd dose 3,03,297).

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 22, is 399 which include 313 general beds and 86 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state is 3547 out of which 929 are occupied and 2828 are vacant.
